DIGITAl vs ANALOG
project infoThis was a poster-making workshop organised for second-year students of Graphics at the Pedagogical University in Krakow. The project was based on black-and-white abstract film posters designed by students with the use of computers. Next, the students exchanged their posters with one another and transformed them manually, following randomly assigned instructions. The goal of the workshop was to move away from stereotypical thinking about film posters. Recreated by means of props, deconstructed, and then reconstructed – these are just a few of the processes undergone by the posters. Raw manual, analogue techniques force the creators to change the logics of artwork creation.
The workshop was completed with an exhibition in June 2018, in Pasaż Bielaka in Krakow. Altogether, 30 posters combined into pairs were presented: the digital ones alongside their analogue, manual transformations. The exhibition was part of the WSWM 6.0 programme.
