Bharti & Wouter

Autorski album fotograficzny powstał jako prezent ślubny dla Bharti i Wouter-a. Bharti pochodzi z Indii, Wouter z Holandii. Para mieszka w Nowym Jorku. Prezent jest unikatowym, ręcznie robionym egzemplarzem. Wyklejka, zakładki, papier prezentowy zostały wydrukowane ręcznie w technice linorytu. Sam album i towarzyszące mu etui zostały zrobione przez mistrza introligatorstwa – Jacka Tylkowskiego / www.introligatornia-tylkowski.com /.

Koncepcja projektu ma wymiar symboliczny i dotyka tożsamości narodowej Bharti i Woutera. Ornamentalne ilustracje na wyklejce zostały zainspirowane hinduskimi znaczkami pocztowymi. Motywy roślinne i zwierzęce oraz kolorystyka odnoszą się do symboli heraldycznych Holandii i Indii. Lew znajduje się w godle obydwu Państw, tulipan jest narodowym kwiatem Holandii, słoń narodowym zwierzęciem Indii.

A wedding gift for Bharti and Wouter. Bharti comes from India and Wouter is Dutch. The couple lives in New York. The gift is a unique album where almost everything was made by hand: the endpaper, the bookmarks, and the wrapping paper were created using the linocut technique, while the bookbinding was done by Jacek Tylkowski from Poznan. The illustrations on the endpaper were inspired by Indian postage stamps from the colonial period (as a reference to the Dutch East Indies). The motifs of plants and animals as well as the bright colours refer to the symbols of the two countries: the Indian lotus and elephant and the Dutch tulip and lion.
